Travel Diary 2 - Route 66 in White

Travel Diary - Route 66 in White

Every time I saw a picture on Route 66, it made me feels something like "old, distance, lonely and dry." In winter 2008, another road trip in Arizona; I finally visited the famous Route 66 and ... ... what a surprise!

I think a lot of people would agree that "white" is the hardest color to express in watercolor. The most natural white contains nothing; in other words, you need to paint everything nearby to "reveal" the white. With this piece, I totally love it!

I can still remember the chill of the snow. I can still remember my boots sinking into the snow. Although Route 66 isn't as I expected, it is indeed beautiful.
