Desert Series 1 - Balboa Park, San Diego

Desert Series 1 - Balboa Park, San Diego

A lot of people won't think of cactus when they think of San Diego; truth is, it's everywhere. People forget that Mexico is right next to the city and it really is a "southern city."

When I took my very first art appreciation class, I found that in order to be a "great artist" in today's world, you don't necessarily need to have the best "skills," but you need to have your own "style" and be able to "communicate" to the world. You can be successful when people see the art and know that it's from you and that's when I started to try different styles, trying different method to create pieces.

I like the color theme in this piece; it's clean and simple. Even though it's cactus, you see a breeze of "ocean delight" from San Diego bay :) It's not as heavy, as dry.
